About Travis
My mission is to help people get their message across clearly and effectively through web and video, people communicating something that matters: community educators, mutual aid organizers, independent journalists, grassroots movements and the like.
I believe good storytelling can inspire, educate, and move people to act. That belief is why I do this work, and it has shaped who I do it for.
While I do business in English, I work comfortably with content in Spanish, French, German, and welcome working with other languages where it makes sense.
Craft Meets Conviction
I've worked with agencies on the East and West coasts, alongside small businesses in events, finance, and beyond.
My craft remains constant and my skills improve, but what I choose to apply it to has shifted. I'm now committed to working with people who believe a better world is possible and are working towards their vision.
I work selectively, handpicking the projects to give each one my undivided attention.
What You Can Expect
I do the homework first.
I'm not just a designer for hire. I take real time to understand what you're doing and why, so I can actually help solve the problem, not just execute a brief.
Privacy-conscious by default.
I lean toward tools and platforms that respect your data rather than defaulting to the industry norm. This is especially relevant if your work touches sensitive topics. Ask me about specific technological alternatives if this matters for you or your project.
Built so no platform can take it away.
Accounts get suspended, algorithms change, rules shift without warning. I work with ownership of your content in mind, so nothing important lives only where someone else can pull the plug on it.
Transparency.
Communication, billing, feedback, all of it is straightforward and upfront. I won't over-promise, and I won't upsell you on things you don't need.
Mutual respect.
You know your work and your community better than I ever will. I bring the design and technical expertise. Good outcomes come from both of those being respected.
Partnership over volume.
I work solo, but I bring in trusted collaborators when a project calls for it. Either way, it's quality over quantity, always. I will not exploit the labor of others for personal gain.
Sliding scale, real access.
Not every mission-driven organization can afford full-rate services, and I don't think that should be the reason important work doesn't get made. Sliding scale pricing is available for underfunded projects, just ask.
